The Little Red Hen (politically correct version)
She first went to her lower class neighbor, a male swine.
"Would you help me glean some wheat to make bread?" asked the hen.
"I'd love to but I can't, it would interfere with my welfare. If I worked, I would be put out of the welfare system, then I'd have to work all the time! Nope, it is in my best interest to not help." So the middle-class-vertically-challenged red hen went and worked in the field gathering wheat.
When she returned to the not-big-enough-to-be-tax-exempt farmyard, she inquired whether the wealthy Mr. Horse would like to help grind the wheat into flour. "I should love to, but you see, I am not that type person, grinding wheat is far below my pay grade. Besides I prefer a more important work, like grazing." So the middle-class-vertically-challenged red hen ground all the wheat by herself.
When it was time to make the bread she went to her other neighbor, the Duck. But he too, could not help, he was too busy doing nothing. So the vertically-challenged-middle-class red hen, made the bread.
When it was done cooking the smell drifted across the farmyard. The pig, Mr. Horse and Duck all came over. "We will help you eat the bread!" said Duck. "No you won't!" Said the hen, "I gathered the wheat, I ground the wheat and I made the bread. You did not help me work so you shall not enjoy the reward."
No sooner had the vertically-challenged-middle-class red hen said these words, when the big farmer came out of his big house. He took the bread from the hen, told her she was selfish and unfeeling not to care for her fellow farm citizens and split the bread into pieces and giving everyone a piece, the biggest piece to himself. The hen was left with crumbs.

Don't worry, I'll still rant here quite often.

This article was written by me friend Ana. I thought y'all would enjoy it.
"Whether or not abortion is legal, there will always be some women who participate in it."
This statement used to make my blood boil. But, I've come to see some truth in it (although not for the exact same reason as most quoters of that statement). Sinners will still sin to some extent, regardless of what government says. It may be behind closed doors, it may occur less often when government restricts it, but it will still lurk as long as the hearts of mankind are lost.
The core reason women have abortions is because their spiritual lives are a mess and they don't see any other solution for the moment. They may have been rejected, abused, or neglected at home, they may have bought the lies of feminism lock, stock and barrel, or someone else may be forcing them to murder their own child. But, it all goes back to a heart issue. Someone, somewhere, (more than likely including the woman herself) who had not been saved by Christ, influenced this women to the point that murder appears to be the only option.
It doesn't matter how much lobbying Conservative Americans do on domestic and "social justice" issues, the U.S. will not ultimately change until the hearts of the leaders and the people are redeemed. And, that redemption comes from Christ Jesus alone.
Government and society are intertwined. A government, with enough control, can change a society. But, a society that believes in certain ideals enough, whether they be good or bad, can transform a government which can then in turn influence that society in new ways.
This same principle, that sin exists wherever there is absence of redemption and spiritual reformation, fuels fire for Christians to take action. If you have been saved from the bondage of sin, then why are you not letting the new man that you are influence and transform your culture? There are many examples I could give, but the main one I would like to address is that of education.
Why allow children to be fed the lie that mankind needs no redemption (or needs a false form of salvation). Why send children to an institution that teaches them to passively live out and/or passionately enforce the chaos our country is wallowing in? If the answer to society's redemption is through the Christian transformation and discipleship of lives, then why are Christian families not living out the power of the Great Commission in their own lives?
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;"

Omnipotent...
It is we who change, we who forget our place, we who see unclearly, WE WHO NEED HIM. I think we would do well to remember just how Great our God is.

In the Begining, man created God?
This definitely caught my attention while browsing the news sites, it has some pretty interesting twist. You will see, in the near future the contrast between Christians and Non-Christians get more and more clear, the wiggle room is running out. You either acknowledge the One True God, or you proclaim yourself an enemy of God. What a comfort to know that one day, every knee shall bow.
This article is from the Chicago Tribune. Very interesting...
"In the Beginning, Man Created God."
This provocative twist on the Bible’s opening line was plastered on the side of 25 Chicago buses this week as part of an advertising crusade by the Indiana Atheist Bus Campaign.
The ads have been cruising between downtown and the city’s North and South sides, including the No. 56 Milwaukee route, since the beginning of the week and will run through June.
"The intent of the campaign is to stimulate discussion of religion and its place in our society," said Charlie Sitzes, a spokesman for the Indiana group who with help from the American Humanist Association has collected more than $10,000 in private donations to buy the ad space in Indiana and Illinois.
The group brought its message to Chicago after a similar campaign in Indiana – to post the slogan "You can be good without God" – was rejected by transit authorities in Bloomington and stalled by officials in South Bend, who didn’t want the ads posted in time for President Barack Obama’s speech at Notre Dame.
Indiana's chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union has sued the Bloomington Public Transportation Corporation on the atheist group's behalf. Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan has denounced his own transit system, saying he does not condone government censorship.
"It would appear that where there is more opposition to the message that maybe that would be the place where we needed dialogue more," Sitzes said, maintaining that the slogan is a simple fact.
"All non-believers believe God is a creation of man," he said. "We used to have thousands of gods. Now we’re down to one. We’re getting closer to the true number."

Daddies and Daughters
The Daddy-Daughter relationship is a very crucial one. It deals with the peace of the home, the protection of women and the training of little girls that will one day be cornerstones. I have been brewing on this idea for sometime now. What is a better example of the modern Daddy-Daughter relationship, than a run of the mill Disney movie? Pick any one of them and you can see that even though the daughter loves her daddy, respect is lacking, because daughter knows best; because she knows it justifies her actions- her sneaking around, her lying to her father, her keeping secrets from him. To top it off, in the average movie, the DADDY apologizes for not understanding her and not letting her grow up to 'spread her wings'.
Respect Your Father
One thing Mother has stressed in our training as women, is that men need respect, women need love. It's just the way we were created. If we as daughters don't realize how much respect means to our fathers, we will never be able to fully understand them, therefore, able to honor them as it is emphasized over and over in Proverbs.
How do daughters show respect? First in the way we talk to our Fathers. They are our athority, protection and greatest ally. We cannot treat them like a chum or buddy, expecting equality.
Many girls have mastered the "Yes, sir!" and "No,sir!", but they lack the spirit of obedience and meekness. Although it is important to say, "Sir", it really is not in the words you say but in how you say the words. If our attitude is "my dad doesn't know what he's talking about" or "I know I am right about this" then it comes out in our tone. "For out of the abundance of the heart ..."

How? I asked myself that question a hundred times, how do I give my dad my heart? The answer came through the DVD Dominion Minded Daughters, the Botkin girls were describing this.
"The heart is the seat of the emotions. It is where our thoughts are formed, our opinions are kept and our feelings are stored. We give our dads our hearts when we talk to him, when we tell him how we feel about everything and when we share our feelings."
Many girls would reply that "my dad doesn't have time for that" or "he doesn't listen to me". Oh darling, he listens far more than you think. Tell him what you did today, tell him about your problem with a friend, ask him questions. Girls, our dads are far smarter than we think. Dad's want to be their daughter's hero, but you have to let them. You have to share your dreams with him, with hopes and plans. He needs to know your dreams so he can help you build them.
A girls first introduction to men comes through knowing her Father, the way she learns to treat him is the way she will treat her husband. I can't stress enough the importance of honor and respecting your Father. All Fathers are imperfect. All Fathers have shortcomings, but the one you have is the one God gave you. Never for one moment allow yourself to question whether you should have been born into a different family. God knows you better than you know yourself. He gave you what you needed, because He loves you.

You see, we tend to want our Fathers to do whatever we want to do, 'bonding time' must be when he is doing things for you. Oh, no no no. Let me illustrate a little.
My Dad is awesome, honestly, but he works a lot! He is a carpenter, something I really REALLY don't like doing, because I end up handing him nails all day. BORING! But, if I want some time with Dad to pour out my heart, or share a new idea or just talk to him, that's the time to do it. While he is working and I'm tagging behind handing him nails.
Don't complain about your Father not spending time with you if you aren't willing to do what interest him. When you are willing to do something you don't enjoy just to spend time with your Dad, it sends a BIG message to him,
I am willing to do more than just say the words. I am willing to be uncomfortable, for you.
Girls, that is giving your daddy your heart.

The Evasive Topic...
It occurred to me the other day not one debate\speech\commercial, that I know of at least during the last round of campaigns, brought up the topic of illegal immigration! Mind you I have not listened to every speech, so I may have missed it. If so, please enlighten me.
In 2006 this was a serious issue, both parties agreed. Is it not an important issue anymore? or has that "changed" as well?
Have Mexicans, Canadians and Cubans, among many others, just decided they didn't want to come here anymore? Have they all packed up and moved out?
Or have we, the American people, reached a state of impenetrable apathy? Do we simply not care?
The issue definitely exist. The drug cartel is outrageous, crime is steadily growing in areas with illegal immigrants, they are taxing our already taxed out medical programs, boarder patrol officers are being killed and no one is talking about it.
All that to say, the reason the government officials are not talking about this issue, is because Americans have ADD and we've moved on to the next thing that has caught our fancy... Digital T.V.

Witherspoon School of Law and Public Policy
The current situation in our nation is so far away from the Constitution that we are heading for disaster.
We have got to be educated in the law, in the Constitution. We NEED to teach these things to our children. We have got to know our history and know how to DEFEND what is true! We have lost so much ground due to complacency and ignorance. God can redeem the lost time if we return to our foundation.

Tornadoes
I was cleaning out my draft pile and found this from last March. A story I thought y'all would enjoy...
" You must understand that I never get to sleep in on Saturday mornings. But last Saturday, as chance would have it I did. Till 8:45 when my mom started yelling for us to get in the hallway (the place with the most walls in the house). She does not handle near death experiences well y’all. I was personally more concerned about being stuck out in the yard in my pajamas after the tornado blew our house away! After about 4 minutes of terrible racket we went outside.
The damage consisted of our power poll being snapped at the ground, falling away from our house (miracle!), yanking the wires completely out of our power box on the side of our house, two enormous pine trees in our side yard, one on our basket ball hoop and the other on our trampoline. On our road alone, a stretch of about 1\4 of a mile, there were 53 trees down across the road.
Our amazing father, had Emma and I out there moving limbs while he cut with the chainsaw for about an hour, before the fire department finally arrived. Emma and I figured that the work was better suited for men… Then Emma started running a fever of 103 that just made everything better, we had NO power at all, and our car was completely blocked in by fallen power lines! But as with every cloud there was a silver lining, Josh, my big brother, brought us a hot Papa Johns pizza as soon as the roads were clear at about 1-2 that afternoon, which says a lot for our amazing Fire Dep., which is volunteer. My Grandmother arrived at about 4:00 bringing hot food with her.
Sunday morning Gods children that lived on Straight Mountain were not in the Church building worshiping Him, but in the field serving Him, picking up the pieces from their neighbors barn that was scattered across several hundred feet in all directions.
Sunday afternoon at Mr. Huie’s mothers’ house was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever or will ever see. We arrived at the Huie’s at around 9:30, followed by the Richards family, then the Whites, who live about 30 minutes away who brought ice and drinks, followed by the Crawfords who stopped by after church with Jack’s chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans for everyone.
At about 3-4:00 the real beauty of the day began to unfold as member after member of Christ Church pulled up, put on gloves and scattered across the horizon grabbing limbs and debris. The picture of what community is supposed to look like was shown in its glory. It’s the getting dirty and sweaty and stinky together, saying “I’m here to help”. One family was going to spend there afternoon at the movies as a family, but because their neighbor needed help, there was no question as to where they would be that evening.
I can only hope you have the chance to get dirty, sweaty and encouraged next to your brothers and sisters in Christ. There is nothing like it. Nothing."

The death of the American Republic

Oh Really!?!
Don't lie to us. Don't say you didn't know, don't say you didn't bow. Don't lie to US. We are Americans, we are smart, we know when a tyrant is afoot.
By KEVIN FREKING, Associated Press Writer Kevin Freking, Associated Press Writer – Mon Apr 27, 5:45 pm ET
WASHINGTON – Everyone knows President Barack Obama can deliver a great speech, including the president himself, according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
The paperback version of Reid's book, "The Good Fight," is coming out May 5 with an epilogue called "The Obama Era." Reid said he was impressed when Obama, then a freshman senator from Illinois, delivered a speech about President George W. Bush's war policy.
Reid, D-Nev., writes: "'That speech was phenomenal, Barack,' I told him. And I will never forget his response. Without the barest hint of braggadocio or conceit, and with what I would describe as deep humility, he said quietly: 'I have a gift, Harry.'"
Now doesn't that make you smile?

Revisited Nightmare
WASHINGTON – An administration official says a presidential Boeing 747 and a fighter jet flew low near ground zero in New York City Monday because the White House Military Office wanted to update its file photo of the president's plane near the Statue of Liberty.
This official said the White House Military Office told the Federal Aviation Administration that it periodically updates file photos of Air Force One near national landmarks, like the statute in New York harbor and the Grand Canyon.
The official requested anonymity to give more details than the official White House announcement that took the blame.
The incident on Monday caused a brief panic among workers, who weren't warned. They recalled the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
Can you imagine being there and not knowing what was going on?

Good for you, Miss Californina
I have never been interested in the show because it is so degrading to women (want to talk respect? don't walk across a stage practically naked). I wouldn't have even known that held recently, but for the ordeal over Miss California. When asked by the gay activist judge, Perez Hilton, what she thought of the gay rights movement she responded:
"In my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be – between a man and a woman."
Knowing that when she said that, it would cost her the title. Although it probably isn't that big of a deal to the rest of the world, I think it was pretty awesome that, even when her "dreams" were on the line, she stuck to her values. Later Donald Trump, sponser of the Miss USA pageant, stated that the it probably cost her the title. Miss California won runner up. But look at the bright side, she is FAR more famous than she would have been just winning the pagent.
